Pension Scheme for Widows
Pension Scheme for Widows
Pension Scheme for Widows plays a crucial role in ensuring that women are not left destitute following the loss of their spouses. No nation can develop if its women are weak and unable to fulfill even their basic needs. Our constitution grants every citizen the ‘Right to Life,’ which includes the right to live with dignity. Many widows, lacking the means to earn a livelihood, feel helpless after the demise of their husbands.
To address this, various Government schemes are designed for the welfare of women. In this article, we will focus on the scheme specifically intended for widows. The ‘Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension Scheme’ is a centrally sponsored initiative aimed at providing financial support to widows. While no one can truly replace the loss of a loved one, this scheme helps alleviate the financial hardships that widows may face. Women who struggle to support themselves due to a lack of income can benefit from receiving a fixed monthly amount from the Government.
